TaDah! Falafel Poppers
TaDah! Falafel Poppers
TADAH!
falafel poppers
filled with harissa hummus
WHAT IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE: Frozen bite-sized falafel.
FIRST BITE THOUGHTS: Kinda mushy, really tasty.
SECOND BITE SMACKDOWN: I could probably eat a plate of these. I don't know if I would nail the "harissa hummus" filling in a blind tasting.
NUTRITIONALLY SPEAKING: They're 55 calories a pop, if you will, and about the size of a Tootsie roll pop. They have a whopping 1.5g protein, as well as .5g sugar and 3.5g carbs. It's basically junk food.
SERVE IT WITH: A tzatziki sauce and pita would disguise any textural issues.
FINAL THOUGHTS: It calls itself "artisanal," but to what degree is that word regulated (spoiler alert: it's not)?
