chocolate coconut bliss bar
WHAT IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE: A vegan protein bar.
FIRST BITE THOUGHTS: There has to be so much sugar in this. (Yep, 12g.)
SECOND BITE SMACKDOWN: If you eat legitimate protein bars (White Chocolate Macademia Nut Clif bars don't count) or any type of health food on a regular basis and you like chocolate or coconut, eat this immediately. If you're the type who adds sugar to your cereal, your mileage may vary.
NUTRITIONALLY SPEAKING: The sweetness stems from organic agave nectar and organic dates, not refined sugar, which at least makes me feel better about the fact that this tastes like a candy bar. Plus, it's packed with all sorts of good stuff like 7g protein, 5g dietary fiber, Omega-3 and 6. It's like a chocolate-covered vitamin.
IDEAL FOR: Snacks, on-the-go meals, people who like things that taste good.
FINAL THOUGHTS: Since it's a hyper-organic, live bar with ingredients you can pronounce, it's covered in an oily film, not unlike a teen forehead. I still don't know how I feel about this.
